The former Super Bowl champion spent 13 years in the league after being drafted in the fifth round of the 2000 NFL Draft, with eight of those seasons being with the Steelers.
He reached his peak during the 2005 season, logging a career-high nine sacks and recording a legendary sack of Seattle Seahawks QB Matt Hasselbeck to seal the Steelers’ Super Bowl triumph.
The California native later pursued a career in real estate and was also known for his charity work.
Back in his heyday, Haggans created a deadly tandem with former Colorado teammate Joey Porter.
Led by DC Dick LeBeau, the Steelers had an elite pass-rushing duo for years, with Haggans and Porter at the helm.
He later signed a one-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals and even reached the Super Bowl again, losing to his former team this time.
He spent three more seasons in Arizona before joining the San Francisco 49ers to finish his career in 2012 when he also joined the Black Out Child Abuse campaign.
Haggans will be remembered for helping anchor one of the most dominant defensive tandems of the mid-2000s and for all the hard work he did away from the gridiron as well.
