The Philadelphia 76ers have a big decision to make, and it’s not just about their draft pick.
According to new reporting from Chris Mannix, the 76ers could be contemplating trading Paul George as they weigh their options for Wednesday night’s draft.
“I don’t know what Philadelphia is going to do here. Do they just sit on that draft pick and take it? Or do they try to package it? Is Paul George in play? I’ve heard some of that over the last 24 hours—that they could be looking to trade back with Paul George to do something there,” Mannix said, via NBACentral.

George has only spent one season with the 76ers, and it wasn’t a very productive one.
He averaged 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game but only participated in 41 matches because of injuries.
When George came to the Sixers, people thought he would help the team reach their next level and was the piece they had been missing for so long.
But 2024-25 was a disaster for the team, mostly because of serious physical problems for the biggest stars.
That wasn’t entirely their fault, but things were so bad that the front office is contemplating changing things after a single season.
Mannix said he doesn’t know what Philadelphia is going to do, which shows just how fluid and unpredictable this situation is.
Anything could happen on Wednesday or in the days ahead.
The 76ers that fans saw last year may not be around when 2025-26 begins.
Where would George go, and could he be healthy and productive again?
Suddenly, a lot of people are paying close attention to the Sixers.
