Several NFL teams had to endure difficult injuries during the 2024 season, but the San Francisco 49ers might have been hit the hardest by this bug.
Week after week, it seemed like their top players were suffering from one ailment or another, making it difficult for them to make a deep playoff run.
They only managed to win six games, a far cry from many people’s predictions heading into the year.
This was a rude awakening for a team that was expected to contend for the Super Bowl, but they’re determined to head into the 2025 campaign with fresh eyes and healthy players.
With that in mind, they’re leaving no stones unturned to put the best possible roster together, wanting to make sure they’re deep at every position.
Reporter Aaron Wilson recently noted on X that the team brought in five players for workouts, hoping to find a diamond in the rough.

It’s unclear whether any of these players will make the 53-man roster or even the practice squad, but it’s never a bad idea to get deeper across the board.
The NFC is getting more and more crowded each season, as teams that struggled in the past have gotten better, making it difficult to stay relevant and at the top for consecutive seasons.
San Francisco certainly reached a low point last season, but with good health and the right additions, anything is possible, especially with a strong coach like Kyle Shanahan.
Fans are itching to see if 2025 will signal a step in the right direction for this storied franchise.
