Damian Lillard has officially put the NBA in shambles.
The talented point guard finally told the Portland Trail Blazers that he wants to be traded, and even though he’s reportedly chosen the Miami Heat as his preferred destination, the team will consider all options and take the better trade offer they can get for him.
With that in mind, Chris Haynes reports that the Los Angeles Clippers, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Pelicans, and even Boston Celtics have all inquired about a potential move for the Weber State product.
The Celtics, Clippers, Pelicans and Timberwolves have reached out to Portland to discuss a Damian Lillard trade, per @ChrisBHaynes

Notably, Lillard has made it clear that he wants to play for a championship-caliber team, thus making the Timberwolves and Pelicans an unlikely landing spot for him, assuming the Blazers are willing to honor his wishes.
Then again, it’s hard to envision the Clippers or Celtics being able to pull off a trade for him unless they part ways with some of their stars, at least unless they get another team involved in the deal.
Lillard could lead any of those teams to a top-4 playoff berth with their rosters as they stand.
But they’ll also face some steep competition from the aforementioned Miami Heat, and the Brooklyn Nets are also rumored to be in the mix.
Truth be told, it might take a long while before this situation is settled, as the Blazers are in no rush to get any deal done, especially now that the NBA Draft has passed and they’ve already landed a potentially generational talent at the PG position in Scoot Henderson.
