The Memphis Grizzlies have a 21-10 record and are one of the best teams in the Western Conference.
Yet, that doesn’t mean they don’t want to bolster their roster even more.
According to insider Evan Sidery, the Grizzlies are “indeed a serious contender for Dorian-Finney Smith” of the Brooklyn Nets.
However, they aren’t alone.
“The [Cleveland] Cavaliers, [Los Angeles] Lakers and [Sacramento] Kings have also shown strong interest in acquiring Finney-Smith during exploratory trade talks,” Sidery wrote on X.

Finney-Smith has a $15.3 million player option for the 2025-26 season but could be a target on the trade market before that.
The Nets have made no secret of their willingness to trade a few of their biggest stars.
In fact, they already got started recently when they shipped off Dennis Schroder.
But Finney-Smith could also be packing his bags and moving to another team, whether it be the Grizzlies, Cavaliers, Lakers, Kings or a different squad.
He is celebrated for his scoring abilities and his depth.
This season, Finney-Smith is averaging 10.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game in 19 appearances.
The Grizzlies may view his contract as a short-term rental and might be willing to part with him when his player option comes up.
Or they could create a strong relationship and offer him a new deal if everything works out well.
Of course, a number of other teams might jump at the chance to sign Finney-Smith and he could see his star rise even higher with the right franchise.
The Nets are looking to capitalize on all the young talent they have, and the Grizzlies wish to make some minor tweaks so they can be championship contenders.
Finney-Smith could help both teams get what they want.
