The Golden State Warriors are pushing through the preseason with their sights set on making a big splash in the West in 2025-26.
Of course, they’ll need players like Steph Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green to play great basketball, but they’ll also require the help of the whole roster.
Anthony Slater says that Steve Kerr has been quite impressed with two backup stars during training camp.
“Steve Kerr continues to mention Brandin Podziemski as having ‘a great camp.’ He said Jonathan Kuminga had a big practice yesterday stretching it out. Kuminga didn’t five-on-five scrimmage this summer while dealing with contract business,” Slater posted on X.

This is certainly encouraging news for all Warriors fans.
They have loved what they’ve seen of Podziemski so far, who averaged 11.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.4 assists during 64 games last season.
He still has room for growth, but has been looking like the sort of young, explosive guard who could be with the team for a very long time.
When it comes to Kuminga, no one was sure what they’d get with him this year.
After the intense drama around his contract this summer, a lot of people felt he’d come into the new season with little care about how the team performs.
Most reports say he will probably only be with Golden State for a few months before the team attempts to ship him out.
But he’s apparently playing hard and trying his best.
He could be doing that to genuinely assist his team, or simply raise his trade value.
Regardless, the Warriors would benefit from a good start to the season from Kuminga.
These two have been doing well during training camp, but they will have to keep it up during Opening Night and beyond if the Warriors have any hope of climbing the rankings in the West.
