The NBA has placed a heavy emphasis on scheduling games in foreign markets over the last few years.
Next season won’t be any different, and the league is already putting its plans together.
Legion Hoops is reporting that the Detroit Pistons and Dallas Mavericks will square off in Mexico City next season on November 1.
This could be a big, blockbuster game that fans all over the world will want to pay attention to.

The Pistons were one of the most rousing stories of the season in 2024-25.
After a nightmarish and awful season before, they came back in a huge way and were a true threat in the Eastern Conference.
The Mavericks, of course, had a season they’d rather forget, with multiple injuries and the loss of Luka Doncic.
But the road ahead suddenly looks brighter.
They were able to earn the No. 1 draft pick, which means they will almost certainly get Cooper Flagg in a few weeks.
Doncic might be gone, but Flagg could be the future face of the franchise.
This game in Mexico City will be just weeks into Flagg’s young career, and a lot of people will be eager to see what the rookie is capable of.
As for Mexico City, this isn’t the first time the league has put a game there, and it won’t be the last.
In fact, some people think the city has a chance of being added to the NBA in the future and that these international games are a chance for the association to create strong ties there.
Regardless of the long-term plans, this game between the Pistons and Mavericks will be one to watch at the start of next season.
