The Houston Texans just had a tough and very, very long season.
HC Lovie Smith was never given an actual opportunity to lead the team going forward, but it’s not like he did anything to earn the benefit of the doubt, either.
The team hoped Davis Mills would grow from that impressive rookie season and become Deshaun Watson’s replacement, but that was far from the case.
However, it wasn’t all bad for the team, at least from a football standpoint.
At least, superstar OT Laremy Tunsil finished the season as the highest-grade pass-blocker, according to PFF.

Tunsil has been one of the best in the game for quite some time now, which is why some wonder whether the team will make him available before the upcoming NFL Draft, as he should gauge plenty of value.
The Texans currently hold the rights to the second-overall pick, missing out on the first-overall after a meaningless win in the final play of the season vs. the Indianapolis Colts.
Fortunately for them, that might not impact their plans and chances of landing a potential franchise quarterback in the upcoming Draft, as the Chicago Bears are unlikely to take a QB first-overall.
And even if they wind up trading down and someone snatches Alabama’s Bryce Young with that pick, the Texans will still get the chance to take Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud.
Should that be the case, then they should hold on to Tunsil to keep their new franchise gem safe and sound for the foreseeable future.NEXT: Texans Insider Reveals The Plan At Pick No. 2
