The Atlanta Hawks are one of those teams in the NBA with a very talented and young roster but lacking the leadership and direction to take the franchise to the next level.
After bringing in promising young star Trae Young a few years ago, the Hawks were thought to have found their new face of the franchise and perhaps the right kind of leader to make this team a force to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference.
Although the team has made some noise in the playoffs with Young leading the way, the 24-year-old has won over many of his teammates and peers around the league.
In an anonymous NBA player poll by The Athletic, Young was voted the most overrated player in the league.
We asked NBA players who the most overrated player in the league was.
The leading vote-getter?
Trae Young.

Clearly, Young doesn’t have a lot of fans around the league, nor do his peers like all the attention he’s gotten since coming into the NBA in 2018.
The Hawks are trying to hold their own in the first round of the NBA playoffs against the Boston Celtics but were crushed in Game 1 by Jayson Tatum and company and could be headed for a sweep.
Once the 2022-23 campaign ends for the Hawks, it’ll be interesting to see what direction the team takes with Young, as the franchise wants to turn things around after hiring head coach Quin Snyder.
Trade rumors have been swirling around the Hawks this season, with talk of the team being ready to move on from Young, but those rumors have been refuted, at least for the time being.
