Kirk Cousins is among the most polarizing players in the NFL.
Some Minnesota Vikings fans believe that he is what the organization needs.
Others believe that, while he might be a solid regular-season quarterback, his lack of postseason success isn’t ideal.
Cousins is entering the final year of his contract with the Vikings.
When asked about Cousins’ future in Minnesota, owner Mark Wilf indicated that this decision will be made by his GM and head coach, per Ari Meirov.
#Vikings owner Mark Wilf, asked about Kirk Cousins future, said he’ll leave that decision to GM Kwesi Adofo Mensah and HC Kevin O'Connell. Wilf said his focus is solely on 2023 right now.

Wilf added that his focus is on the 2023 season, putting a bow on the conversation.
It appears that the Vikings will table this discussion until the 2024 offseason.
This gives Cousins one final opportunity to prove to the organization that he’s worthy of an extension, and that he’s the right person to lead the team.
The Vikings have another looming contract extension, which is slated to go to Justin Jefferson.
Jefferson continues to perform as one of the top receivers across the entire league.
Many believe that he’ll be given the largest current receiver contract, but the details of that deal remain to be seen.
Whether it happens before the 2023 or 2024 season, it appears that the Vikings do not want to let Jefferson go.
He is a cornerstone of this franchise and a player that the fans have clung to amid a lack of playoff success.
With this in mind, Jefferson could get a say in the Vikings’ quarterback decision.
Will Cousins stick around, continuing to establish the rapport they have already built?
Or, will the Vikings look elsewhere, perhaps electing to go for a rookie from the 2024 class?
