Darius Garland suffered more than a loss against the Boston Celtics on Thursday night.
In the midst of the game, he attempted to drive to the basket against big man Kristaps Porzingis.
When he ran headfirst into Porzingis, Garland reeled back and was obviously hurt.
At the time, no one knew how bad the injury was but apparently, he fractured his jaw, according to NBA Retweet, who posted the video of Garland suffering the nasty injury.

Watching the moment in slow motion really emphasizes just how hard Garland smashed into Porzingis.
He immediately fell to the ground and was clearly in pain but he continued to play after.
This isn’t the first time that Garland has missed time this season, but it is definitely the worst.
He sat out of a four-game stretch at the start of the season due to a neck injury but has been healthy since then.
This time, he is set to miss a lot more time than that.
So far this season, Garland has been averaging 20.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 5.9 assists and has been one of the top offensive choices for the Cavaliers.
Now that he will be on the sidelines into the new year, Donovan Mitchell will handle the ball a lot more while other players will attempt to pick up the slack left by Garland’s absence.
The concern is that the team has been through a ton of injuries already and if another player goes down while Garland is gone, it could spell certain doom for the Cavaliers.
Cleveland won games while Garland was out but finding a lot of success without him will be tough for the weeks ahead.
