For almost a year, Victor Wembanyama was the consensus and undisputed No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft.
And while there were some obvious and legit concerns about his ability to withstand the physical burden of playing in the league, it seems like he’s already getting used to it.
After a couple of games in the NBA 2K Summer League, the French standout claimed that he likes the NBA style better than the game he used to play in Europe, going into thorough detail when discussing the differences.
"I like this better though." 😅

He claimed that the NBA obviously features more talent and that even though it’s quite physical, he doesn’t get fouled as often and hardly as he did back in the Old Continent.
He also said that the court is more open and the pace is faster, which he also happens to like.
Wembanyama isn’t the first European player to discuss these minor — yet key — differences between the two styles.
Luka Doncic claimed that scoring in the NBA is actually easier because there’s way more spacing, and Giannis Antetokounmpo struggled mightily when he made his FIBA comeback with his national team after years of dominating in the league.
NBA rules often favor offensive players, and even though there’s obviously way more individual talent, FIBA basketball is often more physical and tougher.
Even so, Wembanyama will have to adapt his body to play a full 82-game season, and the Summer League will be absolutely nothing compared to when he actually has to play against elite competition.
