To say that the Arizona Cardinals are having a bad season wouldn’t tell half of the story. They got off to a promising start before ultimately falling apart.
They look to be ready to move on from franchise quarterback Kyler Murray, and it wouldn’t be much of a surprise to see them part with head coach Jonathan Gannon as well. Nevertheless, tight end Trey McBride is on pace for a big career season.
According to ESPN insider Field Yates, McBride is on his way to finishing the season with 121 receptions for 1,221 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Trey McBride’s current 17-game pace:
121 catches
1,221 yards
12 touchdownsJust an insanely good player https://t.co/3NdtifvfC2

After all of the big numbers he’s posted since he entered the league as a second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, it feels like McBride remains vastly underrated at this point. It’s a shame to watch him waste his prime with a team that doesn’t seem to have a clear direction.
The Cardinals will have to hit the drawing board to find a new franchise quarterback. Veteran Jacoby Brissett is one of the best backups in the league, but he’s not a long-term solution.
McBride will help him with an insane catch radius and steady hands. As long as he’s out there, any Cardinals quarterback will always have an elite playmaker ready to come down with any pass that comes his way.
