The St. Louis Cardinals have had a disastrous season up to this point.
As August gets underway, they remain 14 games under the .500 mark and in last place in the NL Central.
However, the future finally looks a bit brighter, as top prospect Masyn Winn is on a tear in the minor leagues.
On Thursday, Winn had yet another impressive performance.
The young shortstop reached base five times, collecting four hits, including a double and a home run.
He also walked, scored four runs, and drove in three.
On Twitter, MLB Pipeline pointed out just how impressive the young shortstop was in Thursday night’s game.

Winn has been a very interesting player to watch for the Cardinals as he continues to dominate at Triple-A Memphis.
With all hope of a postseason berth lost, the Cardinals don’t have much left to lose with just two months left in the season.
Before long, the team may ultimately call him up and give him some looks at the shortstop position.
Winn is one of many reasons the Cardinals still have hope for the future.
He may have a clear path to a spot on the Opening Day roster in 2024.
He possesses a strong arm, speed, and a powerful bat.
Sooner or later, he’ll have a chance to show off his skillset at the Major League level and provide a spark in the Cardinals lineup, which would ignite hope for the 2024 season.
St. Louis is currently 48-62, and with Brendan Donovan out for the season, it may be time for the Cardinals to give Winn a shot.
