Six years ago on this date, the Los Angeles Angels experienced a special moment when slugger Albert Pujols hit a milestone home run against the Minnesota Twins.
It was a grand slam off of then-Twins pitcher and former Angel Ervin Santana.
The ball barely cleared the left field wall for Pujols’ 600th career home run.
Pujols received a warm reception at home plate from his Halos teammates and a standing ovation from the Angels fans in attendance.
On Twitter, MLB Network posted a video of the moment Pujols hit this milestone home run to commemorate the anniversary of such a historic accomplishment.

With this home run, Pujols became the ninth player in Major League history to reach the 600-homer plateau.
The veteran slugger spent parts of 10 seasons with the Angels.
He earned an All-Star nod in 2015.
But this home run was just one of many impressive milestones Pujols achieved over the course of his legendary 22-year career.
The future Hall-of-Famer won three MVPs during his career while also earning 11 All-Star nods, two Gold Gloves, six Silver Slugger Awards, and two World Series rings.
This moment was one of the slugger’s finest during his 10-year Angels tenure.
What made it even more special was that he got to do it in front of the home crowd in Los Angeles.
But that wasn’t the last historic accomplishment the slugger would achieve.
Late in the 2022 season, when he was back with the St. Louis Cardinals, Pujols hit his 700th career home run at Dodger Stadium.
