The ALCS has already started quite poorly for the New York Yankees.
A usually prolific offense has been held to just two runs in each of the first two games of the ALCS.
As a result, the Yankees will travel back home to the Bronx trailing the Houston Astros, 2-0, in danger of being swept out of the postseason.
The offense was subdued for the Yankees over the first two games, and to make matters worse, the Yankees struck out at the plate 30 times over that span.
The Yankees now find themselves just two losses away from elimination and being knocked out in the ALCS by the Astros for the third time in the last six years.

Yankees Continue To Slump
This is not what you want to see if you’re the Yankees.
This is a team that led the American League in runs scored during the regular season with 807, which still is a distant second to the Los Angeles Dodgers, who scored 847.
But by the numbers, the Yankees offense was the most prolific in the American League and second most in all of baseball.
Even with Aaron Hicks and Andrew Benintendi down, this is a concerning trend the Yankees are on at the moment.
It’s something that they need to fix quickly if they’re going to have any chance at getting back into this series and ultimately beating the Astros.
Despite having Gerrit Cole and Nestor Cortes set for Games 3 and 4 over the weekend, the Yankees still find themselves in a perilous position, with an underachieving lineup that continues to strike out and not come up big in key situations.
Game 3 gets underway on Saturday at 5:07 p.m. Eastern Time.
