The New York Yankees just can’t catch a break in Houston.
Dating back to 2017, this is the third time the Yankees have met the Houston Astros in the ALCS.
In both prior meetings, the Astros won the series to advance to the Fall Classic.
In fact, since then, the Yankees have played in nine playoff games at Minute Maid Park and have lost eight of them.
To make matters worse, the Astros have held the Bronx Bombers to just 13 runs over those eight losses.
Now, the Yankees will head back to the Bronx Zoo trailing 2-0 in the ALCS and in danger of being swept by the defending American League champions.

Yankees Continue To Scuffle In Houston
The Yankees continue to have bad luck in Houston.
The only postseason game they’ve managed to win at Minute Maid Park was Game 1 of the 2019 ALCS.
And so, the struggles continued in the first two games of this series.
The Yankees’ powerful offense has been shut down, only managing to push across two runs in each of the first two games.
That has the Yankees just two losses away from going home for the winter.
The offense wasted a solid start by Luis Severino and the Yankees have dug themselves a hole.
At the very least, they’ll have Gerrit Cole and Nestor Cortes back-to-back in Games 3 and 4 tomorrow and Sunday, so they’ll have a chance to get back into the series.
But it won’t help them much if their bats remain quiet.
Home runs from Harrison Bader and Anthony Rizzo were all they could muster in Game 1, and an RBI groundout by Rizzo and an RBI single from Gleyber Torres was all that took place in Game 2.
