The New York Jets believe their season is far from done.
Even though they don’t have Aaron Rodgers anymore, which obviously lowers their floor and ceiling, they still feel confident about their defense.
They claimed that they could have a historically-great defense this season, and their first game vs. the Buffalo Bills proved that it wasn’t such a far-fetched aspiration.
However, former NFL star Plaxico Burress isn’t so sure about that.
In his latest appearance on “The Carton Show,” the former wide receiver stated that the Jets defense isn’t actually as good as they think it is, and they will get to face an actual dominant offense when they visit the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
"The New York Jets are not the best defense in football and they will not stop the Dallas Cowboys the way you think they will."

Burress claimed that star CB Sauce Gardner is no Darrelle Revis and is vulnerable in man-to-man coverage, so he believes Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb are going to be in for a treat when the Jets arrive in Arlington.
Truth be told, it’s hard to argue with the Jets being a top-5 defense in today’s game, at the very least, especially considering it was the only reason why they flirted with playoff contention last season.
The biggest question in New York will be whether Zach Wilson is able to have a somewhat decent season and give his defense a hand.
For now, the Jets are 1-0, and they’ll take things one game at a time.
