The Los Angeles Rams are having a forgettable season.
Not only are they 4-9, but they have lost plenty of key players to injury throughout the year.
One player that is having a strange season is running back Cam Akers.
After stepping away from the team earlier in the year due to unhappiness with his role, Akers is back with the team and getting the lion’s share of the carries.
This has not been a very good second season for Akers, who only has 376 rushing yards in 11 games on the year.
But, he has been tough to tackle of late.
Since Week 11, Akers has 2.3 yards after contact per carry.

In Week 15 he gets to face one of the worst run defenses in the NFL in the Green Bay Packers.
He should be able to beat his season-high of 61 rushing yards in this game.
Even though the Rams have nothing to play for, Baker Mayfield has seemed to spark this team.
Their comeback win last week was incredible, and it will be interesting to see how they match up with Green Bay.
Rams 2023 Outlook
It is rare to see the defending Super Bowl champions nowhere near the playoffs, but that is where we are.
The Rams went all-in last year to win the Super Bowl and are now stuck with no top draft picks this year.
So all they can hope is that their team will get healthy for next season.
Also, with their limited draft capital, it is safe to assume Akers will be the starting running back next season.
But, his continued strong play over the rest of this season will be key to that.
The 23-year-old will be entering his third season next year, and it is time for him to take a massive jump.
