The Washington Commanders struck gold with rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, who’s been turning heads across the NFL.
His latest masterpiece? Leading the Commanders to a thrilling 36-33 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles, snapping Philly’s impressive 10-game winning streak.
Sports analyst Skip Bayless couldn’t contain his excitement about Daniels’ emergence in Washington, suggesting the young quarterback’s impact could overshadow even the political buzz in the nation’s capital.
After Daniels’ Week 16 spectacle, where he threw for 258 yards, five touchdowns, and added 81 rushing yards, Bayless was convinced he’d found “the truth.”
“There’s something about Jayden Daniels. He’s actually a better pro than college quarterback. He’s got this glow around him,” Bayless remarked, clearly impressed.
“My eyes are having a hard time comprehending what I’m what I’m seeing, because he just looks faster than he did at LSU, and that arm, I didn’t see that arm at LSU, because I’m talking about nuclear arm.”
The praise didn’t stop there. Bayless, known for his Cowboys allegiance, admitted, “I now envy the arch rival of my Dallas Cowboys, our arch rival has HIM.”

Breaking down the Eagles’ defeat, Bayless pointed to pivotal moments that shaped the game’s outcome, including Frankie Luvu’s controversial hit on Jalen Hurts and CJ Gardner-Johnson’s ejection.
But the spotlight kept coming back to Daniels, who’s proving to be an even more formidable force in the NFL than he was in college.
With Daniels leading the charge and earning praise from tough critics like Bayless, Washington (10-5) stands on the brink of a playoff berth.
The Commanders need just one more win, and they’ll get their shot on Dec. 28 against the Atlanta Falcons (8-7).
