The Carolina Panthers hold the sixth overall selection in the 2022 NFL Draft.
As experts and mock drafts dictate, they could be the first team to select a quarterback.
That’s why they have been the most active franchise in assessing this year’s quarterback class.
Their aggressive approach in looking for a play-caller isn’t a good indication for Sam Darnold.
But the Panthers want to get this pick right by bringing in rookie aspirants under center.

NFL Network reporter Cameron Wolfe shared the schedule of visits made by quarterback prospects to the Panthers’ facility.
Last Monday, University of North Carolina’s Sam Howell and Western Kentucky’s Bailey Zappe made the visit.
On Tuesday, the Panthers brought in Liberty’s Malik Willis, Ole Miss’ Matt Corral, and Cincinnati’s Desmond Ridder.
Today, Pittsburgh’s Kenny Pickett is expected to be in Carolina.
No one knows in full detail the proceedings during these visits.
But looking at the bigger picture, it helps the Panthers pick the mind of these prospects.
Inviting six quarterbacks for a visit could mean that the team will likely select a play-caller early in the first round.
However, they might also change course and address another position of need.
The Panthers’ Offensive Line Needs Work
The Panthers also need to upgrade the protection around their quarterback.
For this reason, Wolfe pointed out that the team is also bringing in offensive tackles Evan Neal, Ikem Ekwonu, and Charles Cross.
However, these players might be off the board once they draft again in the fourth round.
Could it be that the Panthers are seeking a trade to increase their picks in the first round?
In that case, the Kansas City Chiefs might be a welcome partner because they own the 29th and 30th picks.
The Chiefs need a wide receiver to replace Tyreek Hill, and going up to number six puts them in a prime position to land one of the top wideouts in the deep class.
