The Green Bay Packers are tied for the fewest losses in the entire league.
They were pretty close to being undefeated at this point, and while that’s not the case, they certainly look like a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
Nevertheless, like all teams, they still have several areas of improvement.
With that in mind, they need to make sure their flaws don’t come back to haunt them when it matters most.
And, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, that’s what they’re aiming to do right now:
“The Colts need corners and have been calling. The Ravens and Packers are also looking for corners,” Russini wrote.
The Packers’ defense has been quite solid this season.
Their pass rush has been absolutely stellar, with Micah Parsons taking a huge leap over the past couple of weeks and fellow DE Rashan Gary also having a career year.
They have also been solid against the run, and while they could add another lineman for depth to make up for Kenny Clark’s departure, they’re still pretty solid there.
Their secondary, however, has been the defense’s weak link all year long.
Nate Hobbs has struggled, and this team doesn’t have a playmaking cornerback anymore after moving on from Jaire Alexander.
Finding someone to fill that void will be way easier said than done.
There aren’t many options available right now.
Then again, Packers GM Brian Gutekunst has already shown that he’s willing to swing for the fences and take some risks.
The trade deadline is just a couple of days away, and it’ll be interesting to see how this team approaches it.
