The Green Bay Packers came up short in ways that were hard to explain.
Their Week 9 game against the Carolina Panthers was supposed to be an easy win, but once again, the Packers played down to the opposition’s level.
Yet, they’re favored against the defending Super Bowl champions in Week 10.
“Packers are currently 2.5 point favorites at home against Philly next week,” Andy Herman wrote on X.

Of course, the Eagles haven’t been as dominant this season as they were last year, especially on offense, but this is somewhat surprising.
Clearly, oddsmakers aren’t reading too much into Green Bay’s latest surprising loss.
Perhaps it was just another case of a team caught looking ahead to its upcoming opponent.
Whatever the case, the Packers’ lack of focus and subpar execution against lesser teams is a major red flag.
The NFC North might be the most competitive division in football, and there’s simply no excuse to lose games as heavy favorites at home, much less if you’re going to face the reigning champions next.
The Packers have proven that they can beat the best teams in the game, only to lose to a team they should dominate.
True to form, they might end up dominating the Eagles at home and look like a Super Bowl contender again.
That will be easier said than done, especially without injured tight end Tucker Kraft, but the Packers have shown what they are capable of when at their best.
