It isn’t often that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers‘ Tom Brady commits an act of indiscretion, other than his infamous Deflategate incident from several years ago.
But last week, when he was sacked by the Atlanta Falcons’ Grady Jarett, he tried to kick the defensive tackle while on the ground.
Grady Jarrett sacked Tom Brady. Then Brady tried to kick him. He then got up and begged the referees for a penalty. He got it. NFL is rigged. Falcons robbed. pic.twitter.com/0pSyJ7kEFH

It took a little while, but the NFL responded by levying a fine on the legendary quarterback.
NFL notified Buccaneers’ QB Tom Brady today that it is fining him $11,139 for kicking Grady Jarrett on the play in which the Falcons’ DL was penalized for unnecessary roughness, per source.

Of course, Jarrett was called for an unnecessary roughness penalty on the play, and the whole situation has had some fans crying foul, although by and large they seem glad Brady was disciplined.
#NFL question to those who watch 🏈
If Grady Jarrett kicked Tom Brady, does he get a $11,139 fine? https://t.co/s5yf99yXUa

No other QB gets this call.
Tom Brady bias in full effect.
And I’m fine with that. #GoBucs pic.twitter.com/4qbc3aYcXq

Bro should’ve known you can’t hit Tom Brady. He’s lucky they didn’t fine him $1,000,000 and arrest him for attempted murder. https://t.co/kN87fTjZ4X

The Bucs managed to beat the Falcons 21-15, but they’re just 3-2 on the season, as they lost back-to-back contests to the Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs contest was particularly frustrating, as Brady played well statistically, but his team lost to the team it destroyed in the Super Bowl just a couple of years ago.
Tampa Bay will be visiting the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, and one would feel it would almost be a lock to win.
The Steelers recently made a change at starting quarterback by benching Mitchell Trubisky and promoting rookie Kenny Pickett, who was the 20th pick in April’s NFL draft.
Pittsburgh has been struggling in many facets of the game this season, and it could be just what the doctor ordered for a somewhat desultory Bucs team, not to mention Brady.
He has been pretty much his usual self this season despite being 45 years of age, and he has thrown just one interception in five games so far.
Count on him to put up a great game and put the Jarrett incident behind him as he sets his sights on an eighth Super Bowl ring.
