While Mike Evans plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, you couldn’t tell by his comments about Acrisure Stadium.
The Texas native, and lifelong Buccaneer, brought up memories of him playing against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium.
However, those memories had him bringing up something which might make people think he was a Steelers’ player.
So what was it that the star Buccaneers’ wide receiver said about Acrisure Stadium?
When Reporter Corrects Evans On Stadium Name, Evans Says It’s Heinz Field To Him
With the Steelers and their stadium, it’s always going to be Heinz Field to Mike Evans.

While a reporter kept correcting Evans on the new name for the stadium, he wasn’t having any of it with them.
“I’m always remembering it as Heinz Field, no disrespect.” was the powerful statement from the Buc’s receiver.
While he’s not a Steeler, he has a love for playing against the Steelers on their turf.
His first year in the league was when he dealt with some of the best Steelers’ defenders of that time.
With him paying respect to those players, he also pays respect to the stadium, which he’ll always remember as Heinz Field.
Evans Isn’t Alone With The Love For Heinz Field
Some Steelers fans had nothing but respect for Evans after his remarks.

So while the name has changed, there’s still those who remember the stadium as Heinz Field.
For 20 years, the legendary Heinz Ketchup bottle towered over the scoreboard.
While fans and players will remember this, the legendary symbol and name are no longer around.
