With the Green Bay Packers riding a four-game winning streak coming into Week 9, Jordan Love and company are looking like one of the best teams in the NFC and on track to surpass what they were able to accomplish last year.
However, Love is dealing with a groin injury that he suffered in the Week 8 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and it could prove costly enough to keep the star quarterback sidelined for the biggest game of the season to date.
The Packers will face the division-rival Detroit Lions in Week 9 in what could be a potential NFC Championship Game preview.
If Love can’t play against the Lions, the Packers’ chances of coming out on top drop significantly, and therefore the team is reluctant to rule him out.
“I think we’re going to do it the way we always do it. We’ll give him up until game time to see how he’s feeling,” head coach Matt LaFleur said, via 97.3 The Game.

Even though this game will be played at Lambeau Field, the Lions are the slight betting favorites to get what would be their seventh win of the season.
Not only is this a measuring stick game for both teams, but it has big NFC North implications, as the winner could be the team to ultimately win the division title.
