A lot of Boston Celtics fans despise Kyrie Irving, and it seems mutual.
Irving got on their wrong side by bailing on the team just months after promising that he would re-sign, leaving after a couple of years with not much to show for in terms of postseason success.
He seemingly stomped on their logo, and he even gave the fans the middle finger.
Looking back on that, the talented point guard admitted that he actually regretted doing it, stating that it wasn’t a true reflection of who he was (via Bleacher Report).

Athletes are human beings above everything, and everybody has a limit.
Of course, Kyrie isn’t in the clear here, either.
While some things should never be allowed or condoned, some fair criticism is more than valid.
At the end of the day, however, he’s been through a lot since those days in Boston, and he’s finally matured and developed a strong character after leaving plenty to be desired in the earlier stages of his career.
Hopefully, the fans will keep it classy — and so will he — in his return to the TD Garden and we’ll get to watch a very entertaining series between the two best teams in the league this season.
