The Green Bay Packers entered the season with legitimate Super Bowl aspirations.
As such, they needed to make sure that everything went smoothly.
Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case for one unit so far.
As pointed out by insider Wendell Ferreira on X, the Packers rank in the top 10 in DVOA for offense (No. 7) and defense (No. 2).
However, they’re No. 24 out of 32 on special teams.

This has been a talking point for all the wrong reasons for years, and coordinator Rich Bisaccia has done little to remedy that.
It arguably has already cost the Packers in the two games they didn’t win.
A blocked field goal left the door open for the Cleveland Browns to win with a field goal of their own in Week 3.
Then, in Week 4 against the Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay had a PAT blocked and returned for two points in a game that ended in a tie.
A team has to be solid in all three facets of the game if it wants to be taken seriously as a Super Bowl contender.
While special teams might not seem as important as offense or defense at first glance, it can make or break any game.
It could be a single play, or a string of miscues and penalties that can get in a team’s way.
The Packers have everything they need to be one of the best teams in the league, but they clearly need to do better in this aspect.
