The Houston Texans‘ rebuild didn’t last long. They were able to get back on track with DeMeco Ryans at head coach.
However, with quarterback C.J. Stroud regressing after an impressive rookie season, a lot of responsibility has fallen on their defense.
Fortunately, that unit is firing on all cylinders, and host Kay Adams recently revealed a historic stat about the Texans’ defense.
Through 11 weeks, they’ve given up the fewest total yards per game in the past 15 years (258.1). That’s even better than the Seattle Seahawks’ legendary “Legion of Boom,” which gave up 267.1 total yards per game.

Texans’ games are hard-fought, old-school, and sometimes hard to watch. They’re bullying opponents at the line of scrimmage, all while making sure pass catchers can’t get any separation.
That defense will face a difficult challenge in Week 12 when it faces Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills on “Thursday Night Football.”
Houston would be among the best teams in the NFL if it had some sort of competent offense. Unfortunately, the offensive line continues to be a concern, and Stroud has been so disappointing that the team has looked pretty much the same with backup Davis Mills replacing him after he sustained a concussion.
All things considered, the Texans aren’t a Super Bowl contender because of their flawed offense. But with a couple of additions this offseason, that might change going forward.
