Bill Belichick has been around the National Football League for decades.
He’s seen everything, heard everything, learned everything; nothing can faze him anymore.
Also, it’s not like people think of him as someone empathetic or emotional; he always has a poker face and it’s pretty much impossible to read.
Then again, just like the rest of us, coach Belichick is a human being.
With that in mind, Barstool Sports’ Big Cat asked former Patriots star Julian Edelman where he thought he ranked among Belichick’s all-time favorites (Via Pardon My Take).

Edelman immediately talked about L.T. (Lawrence Taylor), stating that Belichick loved defensive guys like him, Jerod Mayo, and Devin McCourty.
Even so, he believes Belichick respected his game, which is pretty much the ultimate sign of accomplishment in the league, considering his rather-distant nature.
Edelman deserves everybody’s respect.
He wasn’t a highly-touted recruit and had to switch positions from quarterback to wide receiver.
He was the Patriots’ utility guy, and he ended up building a strong rapport with Tom Brady, being his security blanket for years, and stepping up big time in the playoffs with some of the most iconic catches in franchise history.
Edelman was never a superstar, but he didn’t need to be one to make a superstar-kind of impact.
Whenever Brady needed a first down, whenever he needed someone to make a catch, Edelman was right there, even ahead of the likes of Rob Gronkowski.
As for how much Belichick loves him or not, only Belichick will ever know the answer to this question.
