On paper, the Green Bay Packers should have one of the best offenses in football. In reality, that hasn’t been the case at all.
That’s despite having one of the best running backs in the game. But not even Josh Jacobs can save this team.
Even so, the former Las Vegas Raiders star still believes in his team. When asked about the state of the offense, Jacobs gushed about their sky-high potential:
“I see the greatness in this team and this offense, and I don’t want it to go to waste. It’s just something about trying to maximize every opportunity that we have. This league is cutthroat. This team, we know, isn’t gonna look the same next year. It might not even look the same in a few weeks, the way how physical this game is. It’s just trying to maximize the opportunity we have together,” Jacobs said.

Head coach Matt LaFleur is in the spotlight right now. He’s calling a conservative offense despite having a plethora of playmakers and a true gunslinger behind center.
He continues to be adamant about establishing the run, and while there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that on paper, he hasn’t used his team to the best of its capacity. They can’t run block and have struggled with subpar offensive line play all year long, and that has led to Jacobs constantly being hit at or behind the line of scrimmage.
Unleashing Jordan Love and the passing game might be the best way to help establish the run. Right now, they’re just one-dimensional and predictable, up to the point where opposing defenses have been able to call out their plays as soon as they line up just because of the formation.
There’s still plenty of football to be played. There’s no doubt that they can still be a force in this league, but it will take a collective effort and a different approach to the offense to unlock their potential.
