The Las Vegas Raiders reach training camp without their most important offensive player.
They failed to strike a deal with RB Josh Jacobs, who doesn’t want to play under the franchise tag.
The Raiders are reportedly still trying to figure something out and get Jacobs locked in for years to come, but it doesn’t seem likely at this point.
Common sense not too common clearly…

The talented running back took to Twitter to post some cryptic posts about his contract situation.
Jacobs is one of the most talented, impactful, and underrated players in the league.
He’s reportedly looking to reset the market for running backs, which is far from likely now.
The Raiders could look to make him one of the highest-paid players in his position, but even that may not be enough to bring him back.
The New York Giants went through the very same situation with Saquon Barkley, but he managed to get a one-year deal worth $11 million.
Jacobs may not be interested in that kind of deal, as the team could simply choose to place him under the franchise tag again once the season ends.
The market for running backs has been brutal this season, with multiple current and former stars of the game struggling to even find a new home.
Teams don’t value players at that position anymore and would rather keep adding younger players on cheap deals, as opposed to spending big bucks on the bonafide guys.
This situation may not change any time soon, and the Raiders could enter the season without their most prominent back.
