The New York Jets haven’t had the season they hoped for. Justin Fields was not the answer at quarterback, and this might be the end of the line for him as an NFL starter.
More than that, their once-vaunted defense has also struggled. They haven’t recovered from Robert Saleh getting fired as head coach during last season, and replacing him with a defensive-minded head coach like Aaron Glenn didn’t fix things. Of course, trading Sauce Gardner, Michael Carter II and Quinnen Williams this year doesn’t help either.
That’s why defensive coordinator Steve Wilks will have his hands full in Week 12, and the Jets coach got honest about facing the Baltimore Ravens’ “unique” offense led by quarterback Lamar Jackson.
“They have unique things that they present in regards to the elements of him running the football. You have to account for that in everything that you do. You definitely see it in critical situations when they need a play. He’s gonna come up with something. These guys are going to be well-prepared and so will we,” Wilks said.

Jackson is arguably the best dual-threat quarterback of all time. His mobility makes him a constant threat to roll out of the pocket and get big gains by running.
The Ravens also have one of the most physically imposing running backs to ever play in Derrick Henry. While he has taken a step back from last season, he’s still as dangerous as they come.
The Jets are probably thinking about the 2026 NFL Draft at this point. So, it’s hard to envision any scenario in which they will be able to slow down the Ravens and leave Baltimore with a victory.
