The Dallas Cowboys have been in the news a lot throughout the offseason for a few different reasons.
The initial reason was for their release of Ezekiel Elliott and subsequently franchise-tagging Tony Pollard.
More recently, Zack Martin has been a focal point of these conversations due to his holdout.
He’s currently being fined $50,000 per day, which has totaled over $600,000, per insider Mike Fisher.
When asked about this holdout, owner Jerry Jones said, “You just move on here without him” per Fisher via Dov Kleiman.

Jones seems unbothered by Martin’s absence, even though he’s one of the team’s top offensive linemen.
Martin is only tied to the Cowboys until the 2024 campaign, leading to his current unhappiness and the desire for an extension.
The Cowboys are under a lot of pressure this season.
Many analysts have pointed to Dak Prescott as a point of contention, indicating that he might not be the best fit moving forward.
If he wants any chance at success this season, a strong offensive line is a must.
The Cowboys’ defense has remained strong, led by the likes of Micah Parsons, Stephon Gilmore, and Trevon Diggs.
There are far more questions on the offense than the defense, including Martin’s absence from camp.
Even though they were a playoff team in 2022, their chances of repeating that success are now in jeopardy.
Will Jones grant Martin the extension he’s seeking?
At this point, it doesn’t seem like that is going to happen, as the team has continued to let him pay his fines.
