Speaking on 105.3 The Fan, Jones framed the quarterback as far more than a play-caller, positioning him as the best leader and the emotional backbone of the roster.
“He is the best leader that I’ve been around for a team. Period. He has just a natural sense of what the situation calls for. He’s had it since he’s walked through the door. So much of the good things that he’s been a part of have to do with that skill right there. He brings a certain confidence out there. You know you got a guy that he can have a bad series, he can have a bad quarter, but you know you got a guy that’ll come out there and just completely erase it from his mind and really be as aggressive as it calls for. From the get-go this year, he’s been our stalwart relative to our chance to win,” Jones said of Prescott, via Jon Machota.

Prescott has anchored the Cowboys’ offense since 2016, and his tenure tells a substantial story. Over his 10-year span as a starter, Dallas has compiled an 80-51-1 regular-season record with a 2-5 postseason mark.
A three-time Pro Bowl selection, Prescott ranks second in franchise history in passing yards with 34,024 and passing touchdowns with 234. He has accumulated 80 total wins, third in team history. This season, Prescott is tracking toward franchise records in both passing yards and touchdowns by year’s end.
Through 10 games, he has thrown for 2,587 yards with 21 touchdowns against six interceptions while posting a 102.5 passer rating on a career-best 69.9% completion rate. He has added 117 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown.
Despite the victory, questions linger about the Cowboys’ trajectory. Las Vegas presented a minimal challenge, leaving Dallas still searching for the consistent performance required to establish itself as a genuine playoff threat down the stretch.
