As if winning only three games at the halfway point of the 2024 NFL regular season wasn’t bad enough, there seems to be some internal drama that the Dallas Cowboys are dealing with during this disappointing year for America’s Team.
Veteran running back Ezekiel Elliott seems to have rubbed the Cowboys coaching staff the wrong way, resulting in the team holding him out of Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons and not even bringing him along with the team on their trip to Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Ultimately, the Cowboys lost to the Falcons on the road, with the team unable to keep up with Kirk Cousins and company, resulting in the team’s third straight loss.
Along with the team seemingly heading in the wrong direction, Elliott seems like he’s really jeopardized his future in Dallas, with Jay Glazer of FOX Sports providing some insight on the situation via FOX Sports: NFL.
“So here’s the inside story out there,” Glazer said. “Zeke was actually late for a handful of things this week, so they decided to not just deactivate him, not take him on the trip, he will not be part of that running back by committee.”
The inside scoop of why Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott will not be on the field today.

The last thing the Cowboys need at the moment is problems like this within the team, as it is another distraction that takes away from the team trying to right the ship.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens with the Elliott situation and whether this team can get back on track.
