The Denver Nuggets revolve around Nikola Jokic and rightfully so, as he boasts a unique skill set.
But as good and dominant as he’s been, especially over the past couple of years, he’s needed Jamal Murray to be at his best.
Fortunately for him, Murray chose to pursue a career in basketball, as he also wanted to be an MMA fighter (via SiriusXM NBA Radio).
“If I wasn’t playing basketball I’d probably be in [MMA]”.

Murray was recently spotted partaking in some different activities, and he admitted that martial arts are his other love.
Now, he’s back to his “day job,” as the Nuggets will look to defend their crown as reigning NBA champions this season.
Murray is expected to get a supermax contract extension with the Nuggets if he makes an All-NBA team this season.
But even if he doesn’t, he’s more than likely going to get paid big bucks to stay with Mike Malone’s team.
While not the most impressive player during the regular season, he’s always been a bona fide performer in the playoffs, taking his game to a whole new level in the postseason.
Of course, Jokic made history in this playoff run, but Murray was also spectacular, especially in close-out games.
The Nuggets have their championship core locked under contract for the next couple of years at least.
And while everybody will aim for their crown and they’re now going to get every single team’s best effort, they will continue to be one of the strongest candidates to come out of the Western Conference.
