The Kansas City Chiefs have a history of drafting running backs that seem to pan out for them.
Jamaal Charles and Christian Okoye are two of their best historical examples, and they also got great production from Priest Holmes and Marcus Allen when they joined the team.
Fans thought that Clyde Edwards-Heliare would become a similar player to the organization, but he hasn’t provided the level of upside they had initially hoped for, especially from a first-round pick.
Thankfully, the Chiefs found Isiah Pacheco in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft, who has turned out to be an impactful player on this offense.
He might not have been well-known when he was drafted, but he is now a fan favorite, not only for the Chiefs, but he has garnered a lot of attention across the league.
Pacheco recently talked about his running style in comments shared by the team via “Around the NFL.”
He said “I ain’t no zombie,” indicating that he tries to run with energy and force.

He might have been a seventh-rounder with a unique style and approach to the game, but his value to the Chiefs cannot be denied.
Patrick Mahomes trusts him with the ball in his hands, and while he is a dynamic rusher, he can also catch passes when necessary, adding additional value to the team.
Pacheco has an opportunity to help the Chiefs get back to the Super Bowl this year, and against a strong Baltimore Ravens defense, he’ll need to be ready for whatever they throw at him.
