Every single NBA offseason, videos emerge of Ben Simmons’ insane workouts.
He’s always leaving it all on the court or the gym, all drenched in sweat and knocking down shots like an NBA superstar.
Nonetheless, former All-Star Gilbert Arenas believes he’s found the reason why Simmons hasn’t been able to find that same success in actual NBA games.
Per Arenas, he’s worked out with Simmons multiple times and his shooting form is actually perfect.

His issue could then be a matter of perspective, as it’s not the same thing to shoot in front of a wall in an enclosed gym as to shoot in an arena with seats behind the basket.
Arenas explains that NBA courts are bigger than practice courts, so his depth perception might be off when he’s there.
That argument makes perfect sense, although he did play in the NBA bubble in Orlando and still struggled with his shot.
Some think Simmons actually shoots with the wrong hand, but asking him to change his mechanics could be too much to ask at this point in his career.
At this point, people will be satisfied if he’s just out there doing what he actually knows how to do and at least trying to become somewhat of a threat to knock down a mid-range jumper every now and then.
