New York Giants fans began the week being told quarterback Daniel Jones had a neck strain.
That seemed to put Mike Glennon in line to start.
But then Jones was seen at practice and was telling the media he was not that hurt.
This is all coming at a time when the Giants are 4-7 and preparing for a matchup with a Miami Dolphins team that is suddenly right back in the AFC playoff race.
So who would it be under center this week?
The Giants have finally made an official decision Friday.
Now official. https://t.co/Df4ptDa9FX

It will be Glennon at quarterback trying to keep the Giants’ playoff dreams alive.
The Right Decision
There was no reason to throw Jones on the field if he is dealing with a neck injury.
It appears the team’s own medical staff made the decision as the quarterback was not even cleared for contact.
That tells us all we need to hear.
That leaves Glennon to get the start and try to save everyone’s job in New York.

The veteran has bounced around the NFL during his career and has appeared in one game so far this season.
That was back in Week 5 when he threw a touchdown, but also two interceptions.
He is a career backup who now has a shot to stay on the field if he can get the Giants winning again.
It does not seem like Jones is set to miss a decent amount of time.
However, his future remains up in the air if the organization fires both the GM and head coach this offseason.
Jones will enter his fourth NFL season in 2022 and that is the time when contract extensions are usually being discussed.
He may not even have a starting job, let alone a new deal on the table.
Yet he is hoping this injury is just a minor setback in what has been a year filled with some positives under center.
