The New York Giants haven’t found much success this season. They have won two games, and injuries have set them back more than other teams.
That’s why it’s not a surprise to see the Giants have been given unflattering odds against the Detroit Lions in Week 13.

The Giants will be on the road against one of the strongest teams in the NFL, so this betting line makes sense. Lions quarterback Jared Goff is usually much better at Ford Field, and Detroit is a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
That being said, the Giants have been better than their record shows. There are several reasons to be encouraged about this team.
If they can stay healthy, Dart at quarterback and Cam Skattebo at running back could be one of the most electric duos in the game. Wide receiver Malik Nabers is a superstar in the making, and he would finally get some consistent quarterback play when he returns from injury next season.
Rookie edge rusher Abdul Carter has been somewhat disappointing, but perhaps another season next to Brian Burns would be what he needs to get it together. Also, the Giants will most likely have another top-five pick coming aboard from the 2026 NFL Draft.
