The Las Vegas Raiders failed to get anything going in Week 11 against the Dallas Cowboys’ defense. Even though Dallas got a big performance from newcomer Quinnen Williams, it was still a fairly disappointing performance for the Raiders.
It has become clear that Geno Smith may not be the right quarterback for this team. He has been one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL this season, but it also seems like he’s sick and tired of being the scapegoat, and he sent a message after the tough loss.
“I keep saying this: If something doesn’t look right out there, blame it on me. If it don’t look right, blame it on me. That’s all you can do: Blame it on me. If your kids mess up at school, blame it on me. If your car breaks down going to work, blame it on me,” Smith said.

Of course, this is a team sport, and putting all the blame on one player isn’t fair or accurate. Offensive coordinator Chip Kelly has failed to maximize the talent on the team, and the offensive line has been awful.
That being said, Smith is one of the main people responsible for this debacle. His decision-making has been terrible, and his accuracy has been poor at times.
The Raiders have an elite pass catcher in Brock Bowers, yet Smith hasn’t developed much chemistry with him, outside of one big game. The QB is turning the ball over at an alarming rate as well.
Through 10 games, Smith has completed 66.3 percent of his passes for 2,082 yards, 12 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. It’s hard to believe he’ll be the starter next season, and he might not even have the job by the end of this one.
