Retired NBA star JJ Redick played for multiple teams during his time in the league
One of them happened to be the New Orleans Pelicans alongside Zion Williamson.
Redick had some harsh words about Williamson – words that will make fans of the Pelicans very nervous about the future.
JJ Redick calls out Zion Williamson for not speaking to C.J. McCollum yet 👀
"I was his teammate. I can describe him as a 'detached' teammate. That is an accurate statement." pic.twitter.com/Zq702rOdrU

Commenting on Williamson’s lack of communication with new teammate CJ McCollum, Redick made his opinion known.
Redick said, “I was his teammate. I can describe him as a ‘detached’ teammate. That is an accurate statement.”
Moving on, Redick also said, “this shows a complete lack of investment in your team, in the organization, in the city…this is a pattern of behavior with Zion.”
Those are some harsh words from Redick but they honestly seem accurate.
Zion Moving On?
Williamson hasn’t played a single game with his Pelicans this year because of a foot injury that needs serious work, surgery, and rehabilitation.
Obviously, that is out of Williamson’s control.
However, some people have concluded that he is out of sync with the team.
The fact that Williamson chose to continue his rehabilitation process far away from the Pelicans is an indicator to some that he just isn’t invested in the team anymore.
If that’s the truth, it wouldn’t be surprising: even before Williamson suffered the foot injury there were many rumors that he was unhappy in New Orleans and wanted to take his talents elsewhere.
Perhaps he really is checked out and no longer interested in communicating with the Pelicans.
Maybe this injury was the last straw for Williamson and he’s using it as an opportunity to turn the page on his career and move on from the team.
One thing is for sure: he has a long way to mend relationships within the team.
