We are at the point in the season when the NBA will start to announce the All-NBA teams.
They are starting with the All-Defensive teams.
Many players in the league pride themselves on their ability to lock down the opposing team’s best scorer.
That is why being a part of one of the NBA’s All-Defensive teams is such a great honor.
This year the All-Defensive First Team is full of players that can do it all.
According to NBA Communications, here are the five selections.
The 2022-23 Kia NBA All-Defensive First Team:
▪️ Alex Caruso, Chicago Bulls
▪️ Jrue Holiday, Milwaukee Bucks
▪️ Jaren Jackson Jr., Memphis Grizzlies
▪️ Brook Lopez, Milwaukee Bucks
▪️ Evan Mobley, Cleveland Cavaliers pic.twitter.com/Qc5eTBeBkx— NBA Communications (@NBAPR) May 9, 2023
The Defensive Player of the Year in the NBA was Jaren Jackson Jr.
So he is clearly on this team, but so are two other elite shot blockers in Brook Lopez and Evan Mobley.
Two of the league’s best perimeter defenders, Alex Caruso and Jrue Holiday, also made the team.
Caruso is a player that not many talk about, but he truly is an elite defensive player.
He is a menace as a point-of-attack defender and always finds a way to disrupt opposing offenses.
Caruso left and now he getting his flowers . Happy for em tho.

There is a reason Caruso was given a four-year, $37 million contract with the Bulls.
W for Caruso first team, so proud of him

It was mainly because of his defensive efforts.
Yet, plenty of fans think their favorite players have been snubbed.

Even though Giannis Antetokounmpo did not make the first team, two of his teammates did.
Holiday and Lopez are Antetokounmpo’s teammates on the Bucks, one of the best defensive teams in the NBA.
Yet, Milwaukee got sent home in the first round of the playoffs.
Nonetheless, each of these players deserves to be recognized for their defensive efforts.
