NBA champion Nikola Jokic may not be playing for Serbia, but they got the closest thing to him.
Miami Heat youngster Nikola Jovic did make the national team, and he turned a lot of heads during his team’s dominant effort over South Sudan.
The rookie left the fans in awe with an epic performance, scoring 25 points while shooting 100% from the floor.
Twitter was flooded with some big reactions to this game.

Notably, Jovic barely played during his rookie campaign with Erik Spoelstra’s team, but they always seemed quite high on him.
He’s got a lot of potential and is a savvy and versatile defender.
Even if he’s not exactly athletic or explosive, he’s the kind of player who knows how to create separation to get his shot off and a team-first kind of guy who could fill up the stat sheet on any given night.
Standing a little over 6-foot-10, Jovic has the size, shooting, and length to be a successful player in the NBA, even if he won’t be shooting 100% from the floor every night out there.
However, there’s a big chance that we don’t get to see the best version of him in South Beach, as he could be a part of a trade also involving Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard.
The Heat could also include Jaime Jaquez Jr., Tyler Herro, and multiple first-round draft picks and pick swaps to get Lillard, and this kind of performance could actually be quite helpful to get his trade value up.
