The Los Angeles Lakers sent the Memphis Grizzlies packing on Friday night, ending the opening round by beating them with a monster 125-85 victory.
The Lakers won the series, 4-2, and gave one of the best up-and-coming teams in the West a disappointing end to their season.
It was a very strong game for the Lakers and an incredibly weak one for the Grizzlies.

This shocking defeat had all of the NBA world talking.
And most of the responses were lambasting the Grizzlies.
Many people were mocking Ja Morant’s comment that his team was “fine in the West.”
Good in the west

As it turned out, his team wasn’t truly fine because of Western Conference rivals.

Other people chose to highlight Dillon Brooks’ comment that he would only respect LeBron James if he dropped 40 points on him.
James didn’t score 40 but his team did hit that particular number in another way because they won this final game by 40 points.
LeBron: 20-20
Tonight: LAKERS WIN BY 40Hope this is good enough for Dillon Brooks

Other people felt that this huge loss suggests Morant will never win any championship rings in his career.
Surely, it’s too soon to tell if that’s true but Morant definitely isn’t happy with how this season came to an end.
Calling it. Ja gets no rings in his career

When this series began, everyone wondered if Memphis’ youth would overcome LA’s experience.
In the end, the Lakers pushed through the Grizzlies because of a mix of both.
It was truly a team effort, with strong work coming from James, Anthony Davis, D’Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, and others.
Everyone got in on the act and the Grizzlies just couldn’t keep up.
Fans of the Lakers are ready to move onto the next round – and poke fun at the Grizzlies a bit more too.
