Today, Jason Kidd makes his living as head coach of the Dallas Mavericks.
Of course, everyone also knows that Kidd was once one of the best NBA guards in the world.
Thursday marks the 29th anniversary of Kidd being drafted in the 1994 NBA Draft as the second overall pick.
During his career, Kidd did a lot.
As pointed out by StatMuse, he averaged 13/6/9 and was a ten-time All-Star and six-time All-NBA player.
Additionally, he was Rookie of the Year, an NBA champion, is part of the 75th Anniversary Team, and is second in assists and steals, and fifth in triple-doubles.
Plus, he led his rookie class in points, rebounds, and assists.
StatMuse plainly asked all NBA fans: Where does he land on the list of top point guards of all time?

Many people took to the web to talk about Kidd on this special anniversary.
Some people couldn’t help but highlight the fact that he actually shared his Rookie of the Year honors.
Kidd and Grant Hill were voted the 1994-95 Rookie of the Year, only the second time in NBA history that two stars were selected for the award.
*Co-rookie of the year.

Other people honestly debated the question and most said he is at least in the top-ten guards of all time.
Definitely top ten, could make an argument for top 5 I guess

Some commended his sensational playmaking abilities and the way that he commanded the floor and led his team.

Others said that Kidd’s stats don’t do him justice and don’t truly showcase the overall talent and skill that he had.
His stat line of 13/6/9 does not even come close to representing the greatness of this man. He was a winner. He made his team better. He took the Nets to 2 NBA finals. Out of college he was known as a great passer and defender.

For years, Kidd was one of the hottest players in the game and led the league in multiple ways.
He has found mixed results as a head coach but his place in NBA history as one of the most talented guards will never be challenged.
