The New York Giants fired head coach Brian Daboll on November 10, 2025, after the team stumbled to a 2-8 start through the first 10 weeks of the season. Daboll finished his tenure with a 20-40-1 record over three-plus seasons since taking the job in 2022.
The dismissal represents the sixth head coaching change for the franchise since 2016. Offensive coordinator Mike Kafka will serve as interim head coach for the remainder of the season. The Athletic’s Dianna Russini recently reported that the Giants do not plan further adjustments to the coaching staff or front office at this time.

Daboll earned NFL Coach of the Year honors in 2022 following a successful first season, but the momentum did not carry forward. Season-ending injuries to wide receiver Malik Nabers and running back Cam Skattebo dealt significant blows to the offensive structure.
Veteran quarterback Russell Wilson struggled early before rookie Jaxson Dart took over and produced 1,417 passing yards with 17 total touchdowns across seven starts. The Giants lost four consecutive games, with all four defeats featuring blown double-digit leads on the road.
That pattern of collapse became a defining issue for the coaching staff. The front office cited a lack of consistent progress as the primary reason for the decision.
Daboll becomes the second NFL head coach dismissed this season, following Tennessee’s decision to part ways with Brian Callahan last month. His coaching background includes offensive coordinator roles with the Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins, Kansas City Chiefs, and Buffalo Bills.
