The Minnesota Timberwolves are the seventh seed in the Western Conference with a record of 32-28.
For the first time in a long time, the team has a chance to really make a statement in the playoffs and are finally getting close to reaching their potential.
A large part of that is due to point guard D’Angelo Russell.

On Thursday night, Russell put up 37 points and 9 assists in a major win against the red-hot Memphis Grizzlies.
It’s important to note that 23 of Russell’s 37 were scored in the fourth quarter alone.
Ice In His Veins
Russell isn’t the only part of the Timberwolves’ success story.
Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards are also having stellar seasons too.
But Russell has really taken things to a whole new level in Minnesota – and the young player deserves it.
Russell was drafted into the league with the Los Angeles Lakers, but the team didn’t see him as part of its future plan and traded him two seasons into his career.
From there, he went to Brooklyn and then Golden State before finally landing in Minnesota.
Russell has certainly had his fair share of ups and downs but he’s the sort of player who has gotten better with age and has finally hit a really sweet spot as a team leader, playmaker, and facilitator to the rest of his team.
He’s playing the point guard role perfectly and it’s boosting the rest of his squad.
You can see that when you’re looking at his stats: 19.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and a terrific 7 assists a game.
He has famously said he has ice in his veins but Russell is heating up right now – and it’s coming at the ideal time as the team is attempting to make an impressive playoff run.
