The Green Bay Packers may be back on track. They got a much-needed win against the New York Giants in Week 11, but it wasn’t easy or pretty.
Quarterback Jordan Love was solid, but his pass catchers struggled with drops. That made it much harder than it should’ve been.
With that in mind, former NFL QB Dan Orlovsky revealed an elite efficiency metric for Love.
Excluding drops, Love ranks second in QB EPA (81.2). That’s ahead of Patrick Mahomes and trails only Drake Maye this season.
Here's the QB EPA leaderboard if you exclude drops:
1. Drake Maye (104.1)
2. JORDAN LOVE (81.2)
3. Patrick Mahomes (80.1)
4. Josh Allen (78.6)
5. Matthew Stafford (74.1)@PaulHembo— Dan Orlovsky (@danorlovsky7) November 17, 2025
It feels like Love doesn’t get the credit he deserves. Granted, he has made some questionable throws and has fallen short in big games multiple times, but what he’s doing in the present is impressive.
The Packers can’t run the football right now, and losing running back Josh Jacobs to a knee injury only makes things more challenging. Considering that, head coach Matt LaFleur needs to put the ball in his quarterback’s hands more often.
Love is a legitimate franchise QB, and his team has enough weapons for a successful vertical passing game. There’s no point in having a gunslinger handing the ball off or throwing screen passes.
Of course, the receivers need to hold up their end of the bargain. Drops have hurt this team too many times in the past, and they need to clean up their act if they want to be considered a serious Super Bowl contender.
